Wageningen University & Research is a joint venture between Wageningen University and various specialist research institutes that serves to quickly translate scientific breakthroughs into practical solutions and teaching. The Atlas building is one of the most striking buildings on Wageningen’s campus. This robust building is named after the ancient powerhouse of Greek mythology. Atlas stands out on Wageningen’s campus thanks to the open grid structure that spans the exterior of the building. Remarkably, this grid is not merely decorative, but serves as the load-bearing structure supporting the building. In Atlas, 600 m² of basalt flooring has been impregnated with and is protected against stains by Seal-Guard^®.
