Applications

Seal-Guard® Impregnator for Porcelain & Stone is a superior, low-odour impregnator that protects all types of tiling and masonry against oil and water-based stains. This product has been specially developed for porcelain, but also gives excellent results on granite, marble, sandstone, paving and terracotta. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Directions for application on polished porcelain, marble or granite

Use as is. Try the product in an inconspicuous spot first to determine its suitability for the intended use. The surface must be clean and dry and free of wax, protective and finishing coats and grout haze. Cover any painted or varnished surfaces next to the surface to be treated. Apply one good coat to the polished porcelain, marble, granite or other highly polished surface, with a lambswool applicator, mop, roller, brush or pressure sprayer. Leave for a minimum of five hours for drying and deep penetration, then apply a second coat to the surface. Buff the treated surface before the second coat is dry. Use a soft cloth for small areas. For larger areas, use a buffing machine with woollen or white pads. Allow the treated surface to cure for 24 hours after buffing for optimal results.

General directions for application on grout, tile or masonry

Use as is. Try the product in an inconspicuous spot first to determine its suitability for the intended use. The surface must be clean and dry and free of any wax, protective or finishing coats. Cover any painted or varnished surfaces next to the surface to be treated. Apply in a thin, even coat with a pressure sprayer, airless sprayer, brush, cloth, mop or roller. One coat will usually be sufficient, but on more porous or heavily trafficked surfaces a second coat is recommended to ensure full coverage. For optimum results, the treated surface should be kept clean and dry for at least 24 hours.

Pre-grout sealer/Grout release

Seal-Guard® Impregnator for Porcelain & Stone can be applied before grouting to prevent grout stains and facilitate the removal of grout haze.

Maintenance

Treated surfaces can simply be cleaned with water and a mild detergent. Aggressive cleaning agents such as scouring powders, ammonia, acids or bleach are not necessary.

Coverage

1 litre will cover approximately 40 m², depending on the material to be treated and the application method used.

Life expectancy

If treated surfaces are cared for properly, Seal-Guard® Impregnator for Porcelain & Stone will remain effective for many years. However, heavily trafficked surfaces should be checked annually and, if necessary, recoated.

Packaging

Available in 1-litre and 5-litre containers (12 x 1 litre per box) (4 x 5 litres per box).

Storage/shelf life

Keep sealed in original packaging in a cool, dry place. If stored correctly, the product can be kept for an indefinite period of time.
